The cooperation between the NZZ and DFG includes the popularisation of DFG programmes open for Croatian researchers.

Mobility Instruments are the best instruments both to create new and to consolidate existing contacts between Croatian and German researchers. They enable funding of:
- bilateral seminars or various kinds of preparatory meetings with scientific aims;
- DFG can finance the research stay up to three months of a Croatian researcher in Germany;
- travel fees for German researchers going to Croatia;
- DFG can also fund the accommodation and participation fees of Croatian researchers who are invited to participate - actively or passively - at scientific events in Germany.
More information is available here.

Joint research projects conducted by scientists of both countries can also be funded. More information is available here.

DFG Forschergruppen (Research Units), Sonderforschungsbereiche (SFBs, Collaborative Research Centers) and DFG Internationale Graduiertenkollegs (IGKs, International Research Training Groups) are top funding instruments for international cooperation.
Among mentioned, the Research Units are the most flexible funding instrument.
